Chef Lisa McKay (WI) catering chef, in Milwaukee. She was compelled to the culinary world when her passion for food was consistently recognized for its flavorful taste as a result from cooking, hosting and organizing family events. She furthered her education to study culinary arts at the Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC). Upon completion, received her culinary degree and worked aside the most seasoned and talented chefs. Lisa was challenged to recommence MATC Culinary Club that was non-existence for many years; she served successfully as President from 2012-2014.
Since 2007, Chef McKay has served delectable, high-quality cuisines as Owner and Executive Chef of Lisa Kaye Catering, LLC. While McKay offers a vast array of cooking styles, she is most inspired by the fresh herbs and peppers that bring out the unique flavors in Southwestern, Southern, and Mediterranean cuisine.
In addition to cooking, Chef McKay is passionate about helping and inspiring other chefs to discover their talents in the same manner she also was encouraged. This entails being actively involved in mentoring students. Consisting of hiring them to aide in the completion for their required culinary field experience, enhance their culinary skills, increase their confidence, and invoke and inspire an entrepreneurial vision.
Chef McKay has been an active student and professional member within the American Culinary Federation (ACF) Chefs of Milwaukee chapter, since 2010. As a student member, she consistently promoted student participation and served as a volunteer chef at ACF dinner meetings. In addition, Chef McKay received the ACF 2011 Student of the Year award, 2012 ACF Rising Star award, and appointed 2013 Chair Person for the ACF Chef and Child Foundation.
As Chair, she focuses on healthy eating and cooking for young students. More recently, McKay and the ACF Chef and Child Committee hosted a fundraiser, with proceeds to benefit the United Neighborhood Centers of Milwaukee Childhood Obesity Program.
